Toronto Artist Vida Announces Debut Mixtape The 6ixtape Series: Vol. 1—A Global Collaboration Spanning Four Continents

Rising Toronto artist Vida is set to make waves in the music industry with the release of his highly anticipated debut mixtape, The 6ixtape Series: Vol. 1. This project is more than just a collection of songs—it’s a testament to triumph, resilience, and the unifying power of music.

Vida’s journey into the industry was born from tragedy and personal transformation. After losing his sister on Halloween 2019, he struggled with addiction for years before making the life-changing decision to isolate, reset, and channel his energy into music. It was during this time that Toronto engineer Grindz introduced him to HollywoodSos—the older brother of Tory Lanez—leading Vida to immerse himself in the business and artistry of music. Three months later, he made the bold decision to create his own sound.

Taking inspiration from Pura Vida, a motto his late sister lived by, Vida is determined to challenge the cutthroat nature of the hip-hop industry by fostering unity and collaboration among artists worldwide. The result is The 6ixtape Series: Vol. 1, an unprecedented fusion of genres, cultures, and languages, featuring artists from Canada, the U.S., Colombia, the Bahamas, Nigeria, England, and more. The mixtape delivers a fresh and innovative sound, blending elements of UK Drill, Classic Hip-Hop, West Coast, Midwest, East Coast, and Dancehall.

“This is a tape that spans four continents and two languages,” says Vida. “It’s a global showcase of talent with a focus on quality music and teamwork. Toronto has never heard anything like this before.”

One of the standout tracks on the project, "Chills," captures Vida’s story and East Coast influence, making it a defining moment in his artistry. Beyond this release, Vida is already planning the next phase of his career. Within 30 to 60 days, he will begin rolling out his debut album, with three singles featuring California-based talent and production credits from industry heavyweights who have worked with 21 Savage, Kodak Black, and Tech N9ne.

Committed to his craft, Vida has also improved his engineering skills, working with the same team that helped Toronto artist Roney secure a gold record for “Go There.” As he continues refining his sound, he is gearing up for performances in Los Angeles, New York City, and more, ensuring that his music reaches audiences far beyond Toronto.

With The 6ixtape Series: Vol. 1, Vida is setting the stage for a new era of hip-hop, proving that dedication, passion, and resilience can transform tragedy into triumph.
