Migos rapper Takeoff died at 28 after he was shot early Tuesday outside a bowling alley in Houston, a representative confirmed.
Kinnick Khari Ball better known as Takeoff was a member of Migos along with rappers Quavo and Offset. A spokesperson for Migos, who was not allowed to speak publicly, confirmed to The Associated Press that Takeoff had passed.
Police could not identify the person killed yet, The only info they get is that he was a Black male in his late 20s.
Houston Police Lt. Ronnie Wilkens told the press that the killer appeared to have been shot in the head or neck.
Police reacted momentarily after 2:30 a.m. to news of a shooting at 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston. Once there, officers found one man dead, Houston police stated.
Security guards who were in the area heard the shooting but they were not able to see who did it.
Takeoff was found dead and two other people were injured and carried to hospitals in private vehicles, police reported. No arrests have been announced.
Migos group earned Grammy nominations for best rap performance for their album Bad and Boujee and best rap album for Culture, which was released in 2017.
The group has also earned many BET Hip Hop Award nominations.
Weeks ago, Takeoff and his uncle Quavo released a debut album Only Built for Infinity Links, without their cousin Offset.
