Island Vibes with Kaviedes

What hometown are you repping?

Unlike a lot of people, at different points in my life, I lived in different places. Born in Montreal, Apart from childhood I was living with my family in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, then back and forth between Brooklyn and Toronto. I rep Toronto but my music speaks of all my experiences in these different places.

What are some of your artist influences?

Some of my influences are my uncle Fireman Hooper was a major influence. Though a soca artist just seeing him perform and write songs made me want to do that too. My other influences are Lloyd banks, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Big L, 2pac, vybz Kartel, Mavado , Bounty Killer, and many more. I'm big on audio engineering so there's no limit as to what I listen to in fact I try to learn something new when I'm listening to a song and this sort of influence my sound.

What has been your biggest accomplishment as an artist so far?

I tour a few islands in the Caribbean with my song All Day which was popular on the radio there.

What are some of the accomplishments you are aiming for in the near future?

This year I wanna drop both an Ep and album. Working hard on it. Also, I'll like to work with more artiste whether it's to collab on a song or just mixing and mastering. Doing more live shows is a major part of the plan but when the pandemic is over lol

Tell us about your most recent release. What is it about? What is the message you are re conveying through your music?

Get a Meal in the islands there is a term eat food where it's like you gain money from work. It might have a different meaning for a lot of people depending on where you grew up. When I was living in Saint Vincent, I was in a small house with about 9 other family members, and since we were little we had to share that even with friends. In the area that I lived in, people knew it most for the cultivation of marijuana in fact that's what made us survive, send us to school, give us food to eat, pay the bills etc. So you should understand the struggle that comes with that with the law on you. Slim chance you hit a lick but if you do everyone eat. Now I say everyone can relate because of its hustle every day no matter what job, you do. So it's more a motivational song that even on a rough day you push because you got people depending on you or just to reach whatever goal you wanna achieve

How long have you been in the game?

I've been doing music since a kid.

What’s your message to your fans?

Stay blessed, keep grinding
