From Struggle to Success: An Interview with UK Rapper Ayden

Updated: Mar 24, 2023

Who are you? Back-story and childhood

My name is Ayden, I was born and raised in London which is a place where I learnt alot. Its a big city so theres a lot happening all the time and you meet people all from different backgrounds.

Your biggest influence in hip hop?

Hip-Hop is great, because I think its so creative and free. You can go any route you want with it which is why I love to mix melodies with rhymes.

Your first release and what leads you to the game?

Music is like any other form of art, you’re able to capture emotions and express how you feel which is why I think alot of my music is quite dark. I talk about the good in my life but also dont forget about the bad as it is what makes us who we are.

What kind of emotions you try to give the person listening?

I try to let the person feel what im feeling, everything i speak about is real and from within. I hope to make the real music that people can relate to.

What is your creative process like?

I like to find some music that i catch a vibe too and go from there. To be honest I am very free when recording, I dont go in with a plan I just experiment in the moment and come up with it there and then this is why my music is so genuine I believe.

Where do you see yourself in the future with this career?

I see myself on stage playing music that means a whole lot to me, hearing a crowd repeating it back to me. That right there is the dream I love music and just want to share that passion with whoever listens.

If not rap, what else would you be doing right now?

Music is the dream but you still need money, so outside of that im working away, hustling and putting my all into everything I do.

How much have you grown as an artist?

Since my start in music I have grown alot, and over the years have really perfected my style and feel as if my music is mine and although there may be similarities no one sounds like me.

How are you different from others in this game?

I mix my melodies with catchy hooks and talk about real things going on in my head. I think the style in which i perform and the mix of deep lyrics is what makes my music different.
