What inspired you to write No Love?
No Love is inspired by the chaos of society and anger of indifference; in Baiiicola's world. Love is always my inspiration but sometimes has no reciprocation. The lyrics were written a few years ago, while I was going through the motions of tragedy, pain, and heartbreak. The pain inspired the lyrics, and the beat opened up a way for me to express every emotion.
How does this single reflect your journey as an artist?
This single is a representation of my pain and just a reminder that through the darkness, the light is always within. This journey has been complex, dark, and stormy. However, it portrays a reflection of standing tall when reality sinks deep. No Love is my comeback and redemption. The drugs and liquor aren’t always the best way out of the problems, and I definitely had to learn to let go. I’ve endured pain I don’t wish on my worst enemies and I’ve overcome dragons I thought I could never slay. My journey isn’t over, and it’s only just begun.
What message do you want listeners to take away from this song?
Stand tall, don’t take no shit. Never put your drink down and roll your own. Love is blind, and it’s okay to leave them behind. Not everyone is your friend, and it’s not a crime to be alone; because in reality, you’re never alone. I learned things the hard way in my life, and it’s dope that I can share my experiences as a warning or caution. Young Black females have a voice, and I can play a part in spreading the word.
How does No Love differ from your previous releases?
This single derives from a deeper, more vulnerable state of my weakness that turned into strengths. It also focuses on the over-crossed boundaries of relationships and the coping mechanisms I used to heal from the agony in my life. The song is blunt, direct, and is not your regular melody. It’s bold and stands as a statement of the darker realities of love.
What can fans expect next from Baiiicola?
A unique style of entertainment that resonates and hits different from all angles. My main purpose is to open minds to fresh new perspectives that evoke strong emotions. Moreover, I want to represent the strength of Black women with a sound that cannot be replicated but embraced and loved."
